PNC Bank Losing Customers
Over Mountaintop Removal Coal Mining Policy:
Ongoing campaign begins June 1st.

WHEN:
Friday, June 1, 2012
10 am – 11 am

WHERE:
PNC Regional Headquarters

Similar actions will take place simultaneously at bank branches across Pennsylvania and the Delaware Valley area.  In Newark, DE,  State Sierra Club officials will announce their commitment to join the Pennsylvania Sierra Club  in closing their PNC Bank account and educating members about the EQAT campaign.

To date, the Green Your Money initiative has identified over $3 million to be withdrawn from PNC bank.  Building on the success of their recent 17-day, 200 mile walk from Philadelphia to Pittsburgh, Earth Quaker Action Team will continue to expand this campaign across the entire PNC footprint until the bank changes their mountaintop removal policy.

Mountaintop removal is a devastating form of surface mining that destroys ecosystems, pollutes waterways, and causes multiple serious health conditions.  PNC Bank continues to be one of the nations two largest financiers of mountaintop removal, according to the Rainforest Action Network, whose 2012 Coal Finance Report Card was published this month.
